The Ulricianum English Books Reading Group

Girls, we have a tight schedule! With 2-3 books to be read before Xmas, I’d like to set a date before which we should have finished ‘The Secret Life of Bees’ (Has anyone started yet, by the way?). I remember that Tuesday afternoons were fairly good for you, so here are some suggestions!

Oh, by the way: My version has 302 pages + Reading Group annex. It should be manageable to be read in about 4 weeks, even if there’s much to be done.

After replies from most of you, I guess I decide now before the holidays are over! The next book will be(e) ‘The Secret life of Bees’ by Sue Monk Kidd. After that it’ll be time for ‘The Little Princess’. I hope you’re all happy with the choice, didn’t hear back from Kristina, though…?

I’ve been thinking if it wouldn’t be a good idea to read ‘The Little Princess’ next, THEN choose another book for late autumn if necessary and then, after all, read ‘A Christmas Carol’ short before Xmas. Would you mind?

… our meting is postponed (preponed?) to today afternoon, 5:30! You should have finished ‘Set This House in Order’ by now. I’ll bring cake, 2 new book proposals (so Finja won’t have to worry about Dracula… did we REALLY agree to that book? It’s supposed to be rather dull…) and philosophical text about split personalities (if you care). Should be an interesting meeting!
